abstract |
A medical device for use in combination with a connector of an indwelling line is provided. A medical device includes a housing that includes a proximal portion and a distal portion separated from each other by a partition, each of the proximal portion and the distal portion being an individual proximal cavity and distal portion. A housing defining a cavity and wherein the proximal and distal cavities are in fluid communication with each other and the distal portion includes a structure for selective connection with a connector of the indwelling line; A microbial reducing agent disposed in the proximal cavity of the proximal portion, and a deformable member surrounding the end of the proximal portion to maintain the microbial reducing agent in the proximal cavity of the proximal portion. .
