titleOfInvention projector
abstract [PROBLEMS] To provide a projector having a simple configuration capable of both reducing a problem that light may cause and enjoying comfortable image viewing. A projector 10 projects image light according to an image signal onto a display surface, the light source device 11 emitting light, a casing 19 that houses at least the light source device 11, and an image projected onto the display surface. A projection lens 18 that is an optical element that transmits light and is emitted from the housing 19, and a detection unit 25 that detects detection light supplied to the optical element, and emits image light out of the optical element. On the surface, the light amount density of the image light is not more than a predetermined value, and the light amount of the image light is adjusted based on the detection result by the detection unit 25.
