PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient production method of 3-amino-2-hydroxyhexanoic acid cyclopropylamide suitable for industrial production, an intermediate compound useful for the production method, and a production method of the intermediate compound. SOLUTION: 3-Propyloxiranecarboxylic acid cyclopropylamide is reacted with a metal azide to obtain 3-azido-2-hydroxyhexanoic acid cyclopropylamide, which is then reduced to 3-amino-2-hydroxy Hexanoic acid cyclopropylamide is produced. 3-propyloxiranecarboxylic acid cyclopropylamide is produced by reacting 3-propyloxiranecarboxylic acid with cyclopropylamine. In order to produce optically active 3-amino-2-hydroxyhexanoic acid cyclopropylamide, an optically active (2S, 3R) -3-propyloxiranecarboxylic acid obtained by a diastereomer method is used as a starting material.
