abstract | The present invention provides a method for producing sodium hypochlorite having a low concentration of chloric acid and sodium chloride, enabling continuous production and low production costs, and a method for storing the obtained sodium hypochlorite. A method for producing sodium hypochlorite according to the present invention is a method for producing sodium hypochlorite by reacting caustic soda with chlorine gas, using a caustic soda aqueous solution having a concentration of 34 to 38% by weight, and reacting the reaction. The caustic soda and chlorine gas are reacted while maintaining the temperature at 24-29 ° C. to produce a high-concentration sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution having an effective chlorine concentration of 26.5-29% by weight. Sodium chloride precipitated in an aqueous solution of sodium chlorate is separated and diluted with water.
