abstract | The present invention provides an image forming method capable of preventing the accumulation of fine particles on the surface of an electrophotographic photosensitive member even when a low Tg toner is used in the presence of a lubricant, and an electrophotographic photosensitive member used therefor. An electrostatic latent image is converted into a toner image by contacting a cylindrical developing sleeve carrying a developer by rotating in a counter direction with respect to the rotational direction of the cylindrical electrophotographic photosensitive member. In the image forming method for visualizing the toner, a lubricant is supplied to the electrophotographic photosensitive member, and the electrophotographic photosensitive member contains a polyarylate resin having a structural unit represented by the following general formula (1). An image forming method and an electrophotographic method, comprising: an outermost surface layer; and the developer is a developer containing a toner containing a resin having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 16 to 44 ° C. and a colorant.
