An exhaust gas purifying apparatus capable of improving the regeneration efficiency of a particulate filter and having excellent durability. An exhaust gas purifying apparatus for purifying exhaust gas discharged from an internal combustion engine includes a gas flow path through which the exhaust gas flows, and a DPF 17 provided in the gas flow path and formed with a large number of pores. The introduction surface 171 of the DPF 17 in contact with the exhaust gas is almost entirely covered with a microporous body 18 in which micropores having a pore diameter smaller than the pores are formed. The microporous body 18 is made of an oxygen storage / release oxide containing one or more elements selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metal elements, transition metal elements, Group 12 elements, and Group 13 elements. A support and a catalyst containing Ag supported on the support. [Selection] Figure 4 |
