abstract | A carbon material 9 in which a brush is slidably contacted, a metal material on which a riser 7 is formed, and a resin material 10 in which a core shaft 2 is incorporated in an inner peripheral surface portion, and a segment 8 is insulatively adjacent via a slit 6. In manufacturing the carbon commutator 5 configured as described above, the slit 6 is prevented from reaching the resin material 10. A carbon commutator 5 is formed by dividing a carbon material 9 and a metal material 7 for each segment, and the carbon commutator 5 has a mold surface 11b so that a resin material does not enter a portion corresponding to a slit 6.
