abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plant raw material containing a proanthocyanidin polymer or an extract thereof, a substance having a phloroglucinol ring or a resorcinol ring structure, a plant containing them or an extract thereof in an acidic solution. Proanthocyanidin oligomers, which are reduced in molecular weight by binding a substance having a phloroglucinol ring or resorcinol ring structure at the terminal, are said to be effective for various diseases caused by active oxygen production. The subject of this invention is providing the therapeutic agent effective in various diseases other than these. SOLUTION: An agent for preventing or ameliorating hyperuricemia, an anti-osteoporosis agent, an antidepressant / anti-stress agent, an antiallergic agent, a rheumatism therapeutic agent, comprising a proanthocyanidin oligomer having a phloroglucinol ring or a resorcinol ring structure as an active ingredient .
