abstract | Disclosed is a novel and stereoselective compound of podophyllotoxin and 4′-O-demethylepipodophyllotoxin in excellent yield. To provide new 4β- [2 ″ -benzoyl substituted] arylaminopodophyllotoxin analogs useful as anticancer agents. The present invention provides a new class of compounds 4β-1 ″-[{2 ″ -benzoyl substituted} anilino] podophyllotoxins that exhibit anti-cancer activity and processes for preparing the same. .
