abstract The present invention provides a black smoke purification device capable of maintaining good engine performance by crushing soot peeling pieces. SOLUTION: A black smoke purification apparatus 1 comprising an oxidation catalytic converter 10 in which an oxidation catalyst is supported on a wall surface 13 of a large number of cylindrical cells 12 so as to allow exhaust gas 30 to pass through, wherein an inlet portion of the cell 12 is provided. In the partition wall 11, a notch 14 a was made so as to form one inlet with a set of inlets of the plurality of cells 12. In addition, it is preferable that the shape of the inlet part of the cell 12 formed of the notch 14a is a shape fitted to the quadrangular pyramid member 14b or the conical member.
