PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of predicting a therapeutic effect of a therapeutic agent for rheumatism before administration of the therapeutic agent for rheumatism. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method for predicting the effect of a therapeutic agent for rheumatism, comprising measuring the expression of one or more genes selected from a gene group having a base sequence described in SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 196 or a complementary sequence thereof, and Disclosed is a method for predicting the effect of anti-IL-6 receptor antibodies on IL-6 related diseases. The method of the present invention can be carried out, for example, by the following steps (a) to (c): (a) providing a sample obtained from a rheumatic patient; (b) measuring the expression of one or more genes selected from the group of genes having the nucleotide sequence set forth in SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 196 or a complementary sequence thereof in the sample provided in (a), (c) A step of comparing the expression of the gene measured in (b) with the expression of the gene in a control sample obtained from a healthy person.
