titleOfInvention Oxygen reduction catalyst, method for producing the same, and electrochemical device
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst comprising a nitrogen-containing activated carbide, a method for producing the same, and an electrochemical device using the catalyst. A mixture of a carbonaceous solid raw material (coal-based binder pitch) and a nitrogen-containing organic compound (such as melamine) or a nitrogen-containing organic polymer compound (such as polyacrylonitrile or melamine resin) is pulverized and fired. When producing an oxygen reduction catalyst composed of nitrogen-containing activated carbide by steam activation, depending on the temperature at which the firing is performed, the mixing ratio of the carbonaceous solid raw material and the nitrogen-containing organic compound, or the selection of the nitrogen-containing organic polymer compound material, the surface The abundance ratio of nitrogen in carbon, the abundance ratio of carbon involved in the shake-up process, and the spin concentration of unpaired electrons exhibiting Curie paramagnetism are controlled to be high. In the incorporation into an electric device, a catalyst and an ion conductive polymer are mixed to form a catalyst layer to smoothly move ions and electrons. For application to a polymer electrolyte fuel cell, an MEA is produced. [Selection] Figure 1
