titleOfInvention | Magnetic recording medium |
abstract | To provide a magnetic recording medium excellent in dispersibility, coating film smoothness, electromagnetic conversion characteristics and running durability. A magnetic recording medium having at least one magnetic layer in which ferromagnetic powder is dispersed in a binder on a nonmagnetic support, the binder comprising a polyurethane resin comprising at least a polycarbonate diol and an organic diisocyanate. The polyurethane resin has a glass transition temperature of 70 ° C. to 200 ° C., and the ferromagnetic powder is a needle-like ferromagnetic material having a major axis length of 20 to 50 nm, a plate-like magnetic material having a plate diameter of 10 to 50 nm, or a diameter of 10 A magnetic recording medium characterized by being a spherical or spheroidal magnetic material of ˜50 nm, and at least a non-magnetic powder dispersed in a binder containing the polyurethane resin between the non-magnetic support and the magnetic layer One nonmagnetic layer may be provided.
