titleOfInvention | Charging member |
abstract | The present invention relates to an image such as a ghost or a charged horizontal streak that has uniform electric characteristics, has sufficient charging ability, applies only a DC voltage, and uniformly charges a photoconductor without a pre-exposure means. Provided is a charging member that is free from defects and has no image defects or photoconductor contamination due to defects on the roller surface over a long period of use. A charging member is formed of an elastic body layer comprising at least one layer on a conductive support and a surface layer comprising at least one layer on the elastic layer, and the surface layer of the charging member is formed. In an unformed state, the average value of the electrical resistance when applied at 200 V for 2 seconds in an environment of 23 ° C. and 50% RH is 3 × 10 5 Ω or less, and the ratio between the maximum value and the minimum value in the circumferential direction of the electrical resistance is 2. The surface layer has a volume resistivity of 1 × 10 8 to 1 × 10 14 Ω · cm, and the average thickness of the surface layer is 10 to 100 nm. [Selection] Figure 1 |
