titleOfInvention Thermal transfer recording apparatus and thermal transfer recording method
abstract The present invention provides a thermal transfer recording apparatus capable of obtaining a stable print having a high print density, vivid colors and no graininess without depending on the ink ribbon density. A control unit 11 of an image data generation device 10 of a thermal transfer recording apparatus 1 performs resolution conversion processing, color separation processing, floor processing on image data 5 input and stored in an image memory 33 of a storage unit 12. Tone correction processing, halftone processing, and the like are performed, and image data is transferred to the printing unit 20 to perform printing processing. In the gradation correction process, the control unit 11 obtains a halftone dot area ratio corresponding to the ribbon density of the ink ribbon to be used and corrects the gradation value. First, the printing unit 20 prints a solid image using the used ink ribbon, and prints a halftone image that has been corrected by the gradation correction process, overlaid on the printed image.
