abstract | [PROBLEMS] To disperse a clay mineral in water, which can uniformly disperse a smectite layered clay mineral, and a water-dispersed pressure-sensitive adhesive which is composited with a smectite layered clay mineral with high adhesion reliability and further improved in transparency. Provided are a composition, a pressure-sensitive adhesive film comprising a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer made of the water-dispersed pressure-sensitive adhesive composition, a pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film, and an image display device using the pressure-sensitive adhesive optical film. A smectite layered clay mineral clay mineral is immersed in water at 35 ° C. or lower for 24 hours or more, and then a phosphate dispersant or polycarboxylate dispersant is blended in water, and then dispersed by a dispersing device.
