A cathode electrode having a catalyst layer formed on one side of a cathode gas diffusion substrate, an anode electrode having a catalyst layer formed on one side of an anode gas diffusion substrate, and a solid polymer electrolyte membrane sandwiched between the anode and cathode electrodes In a method of recovering a catalyst noble metal for a fuel cell from a fuel cell stack having a unit cell having a structure and a separator sandwiching the unit cell, a high concentration catalyst noble metal is recovered from the fuel cell stack in recovering the catalyst noble metal from the fuel cell stack. A method for recovering a catalyst noble metal for a fuel cell, comprising separating and recovering a member containing the catalyst, and using the member as a raw material for recovering the catalyst noble metal.
