abstract Provided is a side leakage type illumination device in which a yellow shift phenomenon generated on a light emitting surface is reduced when a polycarbonate resin is used for a core portion. A sheet-like light guide having upper and lower surfaces of a transparent flat core portion covered with a clad portion, and a light source device optically connected to at least one end face of the sheet-like light guide. A side light leakage type illumination device that leaks light from a side surface portion of the sheet-like light guide, wherein the core portion contains 0.001% by mass or more of a fluorescent whitening agent or a bluing agent with respect to a polycarbonate resin. Formed of a polycarbonate resin composition containing in a range of 0.3% by mass or less, the clad portion is formed of an acrylic resin, and the light source device is a light emitting diode (LED) having a specific emission wavelength or It consists of a semiconductor laser diode (LD) or a white light source.
