Compared to conventional electrochemical storage devices such as secondary batteries, the charge / discharge characteristics and energy density can be further improved, and further, the electrochemical can be manufactured at a low cost by a simpler operation. An electrode for an electrical storage device is provided. An electrode for an electrochemical storage device having a nanostructured hollow carbon material. The said electrode which has the requirements of the following (A). (A) The nanostructured hollow carbon material has a carbon part and a hollow part, and the hollow part is covered with a carbon part in a bag shape, or a part of the structure, or an aggregate thereof. The electrode having the following requirements (B) and (C): (B) The thickness of the carbon part of the nanostructured hollow carbon material is in the range of 1 nm to 100 nm.
