abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a fluid dynamic pressure bearing device, a spindle motor, and a disk drive device that can prevent deterioration of lubricating oil and that can reduce the manufacturing cost. A surface of a bearing housing 344 is covered with a nickel plating layer. For this reason, the lubricating oil 51 filled in the bearing housing 344 does not come into direct contact with the zinc component of the bearing housing 344, and the alteration of the lubricating oil 51 due to the zinc component can be prevented. Thereby, the reliability and service life of the fluid dynamic bearing device 5 can be improved. Further, the bearing housing 344 can be obtained at a lower cost compared to the case where the bearing housing 344 is formed using an expensive resin material (LCP resin, PPS resin, etc.) or stainless steel that is less likely to alter the lubricating oil 51. .
