The present invention provides a carpet detergent that has excellent detergency and provides a sufficient softening effect. The carpet detergent of the present invention comprises a detergent component (for example, lauryldimethylaminoacetic acid betaine) comprising at least one of a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, and a nonionic surfactant, and a cation.
