titleOfInvention Device for detecting sulfur concentration in fuel and oil
abstract A sulfur concentration in fuel or oil is detected. A metal compound 50 capable of trapping a sulfur component in exhaust gas is disposed in a flow passage of the exhaust gas, and the metal compound 50 changes as the amount of sulfur component trapped in the metal compound 50 increases. The actual integrated value of the SO X amount actually contained in the exhaust gas is calculated from the measured physical properties. On the other hand, when an assumed sulfur concentration fuel or oil is assumed to be used, an assumed integrated value of the SO X amount that is assumed to be contained in the exhaust gas is calculated, and the SO X amount is calculated. It is determined whether fuel or oil having a high sulfur concentration is being used from the actual integrated value and the estimated integrated value of the SO X amount. [Selection] Figure 2
