abstract |
A secondary battery capable of improving cycle characteristics is provided. An electrolytic solution is provided together with a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and a separator provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode is impregnated with the electrolytic solution. The negative electrode 22 has a negative electrode current collector 22A and a negative electrode active material layer 22B provided thereon. This negative electrode active material layer 22B contains a negative electrode active material containing silicon and having a fine pore group (a fine pore group having a pore diameter of 3 nm to 50 nm), and the volume of the fine pore group per unit weight of silicon is 0.2 cm 3 / g or less. Since the surface area of the negative electrode active material is kept small, the electrolyte solution is difficult to decompose even when the negative electrode active material contains highly active silicon.
