titleOfInvention Method for inactivating hepatitis C virus by UV
abstract An object of the present invention is to develop a method for inactivating hepatitis C virus particles, which is essential for producing a vaccine for hepatitis C virus. According to the present invention, UV-C is irradiated to a solution containing hepatitis C virus particles to degrade RNA of hepatitis C virus, thereby suppressing the influence on the virus particle structure. However, the infectivity of hepatitis C virus can be lost. Therefore, the present invention is useful in the production of a hepatitis C virus vaccine. [Selection figure] None
