abstract |
A method is provided that is as efficient as possible to reduce sulfur components in an HCl-containing process gas from an isocyanate facility. In a process for producing an isocyanate by phosgenation of an amine, a) reacting carbon monoxide with chlorine to form phosgene, and b) reacting an amine with phosgene to contain a crude isocyanate mixture and hydrogen chloride. Forming a gas stream that undergoes catalytic oxidation to produce chlorine having a sulfur content of less than 100 ppm. [Selection] Figure 1 |
