titleOfInvention Catheter shaping system
abstract Catheter assembly 10 includes a handle body 12 having a proximal end 14 and a distal end. An introduction carrier 18 is disposed so as to be movable with respect to the handle body. An electrode sheath component is disposed at the distal end portion of the handle body. The electrode sheath portion includes at least a pair of rims connected to each other by a bridge portion, and the bridge portion supports the electrode. A long shape forming component 40 is received in the lumen of the electrode sheath component, and a predetermined shape portion is formed along the length of the shape forming component. An introduction component 22 is supported on the introduction carrier of the handle body. The electrode sheath component is received in the introduction component before the bridge portion of the electrode sheath component extends from the distal end portion of the introduction component and is exposed during use. Due to the arrangement, the shape imparted to the exposed bridge portion of the electrode sheath component changes due to the relative movement between at least two of the components.
