titleOfInvention | Heterogeneous electrochemical supercapacitor and method for producing the same |
abstract | The present invention relates to an electric double layer heterogeneous electrochemical supercapacitor (HES) and a method for producing the same. Single-cell or multi-cell HES is manufactured. By carefully controlling certain parameters of the design and configuration of the HES, the output characteristics of the HES are optimized. For example, the ratio between the charge capacity of the positive electrode (10) of the HES and the charge capacity of the negative electrode (15) is carefully selected and controlled. An active material that is more efficient than the active material used in a typical electrochemical capacitor is utilized for both positive and negative electrode configurations. A separator (30) with improved operating parameters is used. Furthermore, the negative electrode current collector is manufactured from a material having a matching layer that guarantees high stability within the operating potential range of the negative electrode in the HES electrolyte environment, high hydrogen gas generation overvoltage, and high conductivity. It is preferable. |
