A method of treating or preventing an eye disease in a subject comprising administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a vascular endothelial targeting amino acid sequence and a cell. Disclosed are methods comprising a polypeptide having a toxic amino acid sequence. For example, the vascular endothelial targeting amino acid sequence may be a VEGF sequence such as the VEGF 121 sequence. Examples of cytotoxic amino acid sequences include toxin sequences such as gelonin, pro-apoptotic sequences, and anti-angiogenic sequences. The ocular disease may be any ocular disease such as choroidal neovascularization, retinal neovascularization, iris neovascularization, or ocular disease associated with corneal neovascularization. |
