abstract | The present invention relates generally to systems and methods for treating inflammatory and proliferative diseases, which systems and methods use MDR tumors by using bifunctional compounds that inhibit both fatty acid metabolism and glycolysis. Allows treatment of cells. Thus, the present invention links fatty acid metabolism inhibitors to glycolysis inhibitors. More specifically, the present invention provides a novel bifunctional compound in which a functional moiety of an oxirane carboxylic acid compound is linked to a functional moiety of a glucose derivative. In certain embodiments, the present invention provides bifunctional compounds that link a moiety having etomoxil functionality to a moiety having 2-deoxy-D-glucose functionality. |
