Magnetic resonance elastography image data is acquired while noble gas is administered to the patient to fill the lungs and vibration is applied to the chest wall. A shear wave is generated in the lung filled with gas by vibration and a shear modulus image is reconstructed from MRE image data that can be used to diagnose lung disease. |
