A process for releasably encapsulating a biological material is provided. The process includes mixing a precursor material, a biological material, and a surfactant solution dissolved in a nonpolar solvent to form an emulsion. This emulsion contains a polar phase dispersed in a non-polar phase, where the polar phase contains biological material. Next, particles containing biological material are formed from the polar phase. [Selection] Figure 1 |
