titleOfInvention | Manufacturing method for producing peptides grown in insect cell systems |
abstract | The present invention provides a manufacturing method for producing peptides grown in insect cell lines. The peptides are grown in insect cell cultures infected with baculovirus particles in culture supplemented with a lipid mixture. The peptide is then isolated from the insect cell culture using a method that uses a tangential flow filtration cascade. An isolated peptide is a glycopeptide having an insect-specific glycosylation pattern. The glycopeptide can then be attached to the modifying group by attachment via a glycosyl linking group that is placed between the peptide and the modifying group and covalently attached to the peptide and the modifying group. The conjugate is formed from a glycosylated peptide by the action of a glycosyltransferase. |
