titleOfInvention | Formation of compound films for metal dispersants and photovoltaic device active layers |
abstract | Compound films can be formed by forming a mixture of elemental nanoparticles with controlled overall composition composed of elements of IB, IIIA and optionally the VIA group. This mixture of nanoparticles and a suspension of gallium nanospheres are combined to form a dispersant. This dispersant can be attached to the substrate to form a layer on the substrate. Next, a compound film can be formed by reacting this layer in an appropriate atmosphere. This compound film can be used as a light absorbing layer of a photovoltaic device. Optionally, a compound film for the active layer of the photovoltaic device can be formed in the plurality of sublayers. Using the first step, a first sublayer having a first component of the active layer may be formed on the substrate. Next, the second step can be used to form a second sublayer containing the second component of the active layer. The second sublayer is formed such that the first sublayer is disposed between the second sublayer and the substrate. The second component can have a different chemical composition than the first component. The first and / or second sublayer may contain one or more components in the form of particles and / or spheres. This procedure can be repeated any number of times for any number of sublayers so that the active layer can be constructed continuously. By making the chemical composition of the components of the sublayer different, it is possible to provide an active layer having a stepped band gap. |
