abstract |
An inhaler for delivering medication by inhalation includes a canister (105), an actuator having a housing (111) for receiving the canister, and an actuating mechanism (109) for actuating the canister (105). The actuating mechanism (109) comprises a loading member (161) that is fitted or contained in the canister (105) and comprises a loading portion (175), which in use is loaded with the loading member ( 161) is acted on in the actuation direction from the rest position to the actuation position where the canister (105) is actuated to deliver the medicament. The actuation mechanism also comprises at least one actuation member (163a, b) that can be actuated by a user to drive the loading member (161) to the actuation position in the actuation direction. At least one of the actuating members (163a, b) is pivotally coupled to the housing (111) and configured to be grasped and depressed by a user when actuating the canister (105).
