titleOfInvention | Composition for inducing an immune response against Mycobacterium avium subsp. |
abstract | The present invention provides compositions and methods for stimulating an immune response against Mycobacterium avium subsp. Parachubaculosis (MPT). The composition includes at least 5 recombinant immunogenic components. The immunogenic component can be MPT antigen, or a DNA polynucleotide encoding MPT antigen, or a combination thereof. MPT antigens used in the present invention include MPT 85A, 85B, 85C, 35 kDa, superoxide dismutase (SOD), MptC, MptD and ESAT-6 proteins. The method comprises administering the composition to an animal in an amount effective to stimulate an immune response against MPT bacteria. The method is beneficial for any animal susceptible to MPT infection, but is particularly beneficial for ruminants. |
