abstract |
The present invention provides ApoA-II isoforms, protein-based biomarkers that are useful for measuring prostate cancer status in patients. In particular, the biomarkers of the present invention are useful for classifying biological samples as prostate cancer or non-prostate cancer. The ability of ApoA-II to detect disease in patients with normal prostate specific antigen (PSA) makes the biomarkers of the invention useful for identifying indolent disease. Biomarkers can be detected by SELDI mass spectrometry, HPLC, PAGE, and Western blotting. |
