abstract | The present invention relates to solid elastomers that exhibit reduced dimensional shrinkage and methods for making these elastomers. These elastomers comprise at least one isocyanate-reactive component comprising a polyisocyanate component or prepolymer, a high molecular weight component having an EO cap of less than 17% by weight, a chain extender and optionally a crosslinking agent. It comprises a reaction product reacted in the presence of a catalyst. These solid elastomers are produced in a closed mold by reaction injection molding, preferably with an isocyanate index of about 70 to about 130. |
