titleOfInvention | Synthesis of narcystatin sodium and related compounds |
abstract | The present invention relates to the use of compounds obtained by isolation from a medicinal plant species, Narcissus (Amaryllidaceae), narcyclacin (2a) and 7-deoxy-nalcyclacin (2c) as precursors in a novel synthesis method. Related. In this method, each of these compounds is selectively hydrogenated to produce trans-dihydronal cyclacin (1a) and 7-deoxy-trans-dihydronal cyclacin (1c). Also described herein is a novel synthetic method for producing narcystatin sodium (11) from narcyclacin (2a). Further described herein are certain species, including 7-deoxynalcystatin sodium (8), 7-deoxy-trans-dihydronalcystatin sodium (9), and trans-dihydronalcystatin sodium (10) A novel 3,4-cyclic phosphate prodrug. |
