abstract | The present invention relates to the field of influenza vaccine production. Influenza vaccines have been produced in growing eggs for over 50 years, but in recent years significant efforts have been made to develop cell culture systems for vaccine production. The present invention provides a nucleic acid comprising an influenza gene fragment and a bacteriophage polymerase promoter or a complementary strand of the nucleic acid and a cell comprising such a nucleic acid capable of producing the desired influenza virus. Furthermore, the present invention provides a composition comprising a cell or substance derived from a cell according to the present invention and a virus or substance derived from a viral particle according to the present invention. |
