abstract | Disclosed are compositions comprising one or more [benzo [4,5] imidazo (heterocycle)] compounds. The [benzo [4,5] imidazo (heterocycle)] compound is selected from the group consisting of structures I and II of the formula [Chemical 1] Wherein R 1 and R 2 are independently selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, an electron withdrawing group, an organic group, a divalent 1,2-cycloalkylidene group, or a combination thereof, and “q” is independently 1 to 1 4 is an integer, L is a linking group, and “r” is independently 0 or 1. One or more [benzo [4,5] imidazo (heterocycle)] compounds have a maximum fluorescence emission wavelength of about 470 nm or more and about about 470 nm when the composition is exposed to excitation radiation having a wavelength of about 330 to about 390 nm. It exists at a sufficient concentration so as to exhibit a Stokes shift of 80 nm or more. Here, the wavelength is measured in a bisphenol A polycarbonate matrix. [Selection figure] None |
