titleOfInvention | Production of glucurono-3,6-lactone with less environmental impact |
abstract | Disclosed are methods for increasing the specific activity of myo-inositol oxygenase. This method involves incubating a mixture comprising myo-inositol oxygenase and a sulfur-free reducing agent under conditions effective to increase the specific activity of myo-inositol oxygenase. Also, a mixture containing myo-inositol, myo-inositol oxygenase, and oxygen is effective to form 5 grams of D-glucuronic acid per liter of the mixture to 400 grams of D-glucuronic acid per liter of the mixture. Also disclosed is a method for producing D-glucuronic acid and glucurono-lactone comprising incubating under conditions. Glucurono-lactone can be produced from the D-glucuronic acid product. Also disclosed are organisms and nucleic acids suitable for use in such methods. [Selection] Figure 1 |
