abstract While identifying and estimating the amount of frequency error at the local reference frequency of the receiver, the above error estimate is used to maintain frequency coherence for the received signal, thereby enabling tracking over time and reducing frequency coherence. A receiver reference oscillator frequency correction system and method is described that provides a receiver with a great ability to lock to a relatively weak radio frequency signal by allowing a long integration time to capture a weak signal without loss.
