The present invention relates to an implant plug having a complex and clinically acceptable proximal surface. The present invention provides a multilayer implant plug having a non-planar proximal surface. Suitable implant proximal surface shapes include, but are not limited to, concave surfaces, convex surfaces, faceted domes, and inclined surfaces formed by the convergence of two facets. The implant of the present invention is suitable for the treatment of tissue defects in the articular surface. The present invention also provides a delivery device and a transport method for transporting the implant of the present invention. The present invention also provides a method for generating defects suitable for use with the implants of the present invention. |
