Methods and systems are provided for treating a vascular structure having a disorder, such as a cerebral artery with a weakened wall forming an aneurysm. The method includes substantially entrapping an amount of blood within a vascular disorder and introducing an amount of a cross-linking agent into the entrapped blood, eg, as a solution. The crosslinker is a compound and each molecule of the compound has at least two nucleophilic reactive functional groups. The cross-linking agent becomes able to mix and react with the substantially trapped blood, and a substantially solid mass made of cross-linked blood is formed within the lesion. |
