The present invention provides a novel binding pair composition that is of a predetermined and limited stability comprising a nucleic acid detection marker useful for the detection of homogeneous, sensitive analytes. Also provided are methods for the sensitive and homogeneous detection of analytes, particularly clinically relevant analytes. Also provided are kits for preparing the binding pairs of the invention, and methods for practicing the invention. The present invention provides a binding pair having a first binding member comprising a first specificity molecule bound to a first nucleic acid and a second binding member comprising a second specificity molecule bound to a second nucleic acid, wherein The first nucleic acid and the second nucleic acid form a predetermined and limited stability duplex. |
