abstract |
A method for electrochemical monitoring of enzyme-substrate reactions is described. The substrate is tagged with a redox active group. The modification of the substrate by the enzyme can then be monitored electrochemically by a redox active group. Such a method can be used in particular to monitor non-oxidoreductase reactions such as kinase, phosphatase or protease reactions. However, the reaction of oxidoreductase can also be monitored by such a method. Screening assays for identifying modulators of enzyme activity or novel enzyme substrates are also described. |
