titleOfInvention | Lancet de-energizing system using compressed air |
abstract | A lancing device comprising a cylinder, a plunger, a piston, a spring and an actuating device. The cylinder includes a valve that is adapted to allow air to flow into the cylinder. The cylinder further includes an opening. The plunger housing is adapted to seat the lancet therein. The piston is adapted to move within the cylinder. The piston is adapted to prevent most of the air in the cylinder from leaking between the cylinder and the piston. The piston is attached to the plunger housing. The spring is disposed in the cylinder. The spring is disposed adjacent to the piston on the opposite side of the plunger housing. The actuator includes an internal shaft in which the internal shaft of the actuator extends into the cylinder through an opening formed in the cylinder. The inner shaft is attached to the piston on the opposite side of the plunger housing. |
