abstract | The valve assembly includes a housing that includes a valve hole, a valve seat, and at least one port in communication with the hole. A movable plunger is present in the valve hole and selectively seals against the valve seat. An integral bobbin present with the housing has a coaxial solenoid hole adjacent to the valve hole. A movable armature has an actuating rod that resides in the solenoid bore and is connected to the plunger. The pole pieces are present in the solenoid holes near the armature. The solenoid coil is wound around the bobbin. The magnetic conductor partially surrounds the bobbin, pole piece, and armature. The assembly method involves flowing air through the port and assembling a plunger or other sealing element into the hole while monitoring fluid flow. And when the flow is in a preselected state, the plunger or sealing element is stopped. [Selection] Figure 1 |
