titleOfInvention | Blood vessel blocker |
abstract | 【Task】 An apparatus is provided for blocking a portion of a blood vessel for local treatment of the blood vessel. 【means】 The device uses a reversibly expandable body partially covered by a blood impermeable sleeve. The device has a small profile stacked state when supplied and an expanded state when deployed. The impermeable sleeve extends from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion of the expandable body and substantially follows the contour of the expandable body. When deployed, the device is configured in an expanded state and has a generally hourglass or dumbbell shape. In the expanded state, the proximal end portion and the portion of the sleeve close to the distal end portion are arranged in juxtaposition to the blood vessel wall, and blood freely flows through the expandable body from the inlet and outlet provided in the proximal end portion and the distal end portion. . As a result, an isolation treatment space surrounding the device is formed between the blood vessel wall and the blood impermeable sleeve near the neck portion of the expandable body.
