titleOfInvention | Detection method of Neisseria gonorrhoeae using 5 'untranslated region of opa gene |
abstract | The present invention relates to microbiology and molecular diagnostic methods. More specifically, the present invention relates to a specific and sensitive detection method for Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG) in clinical samples. NG-specific oligonucleotides comprising the nucleotide sequence 5′-TTTGAACC-3 ′ or its complementary sequence and capable of hybridizing to the 5 ′ untranslated region of the opa gene of NG or its complementary sequence are provided. Also provided are methods for detecting NG strains, preferably using nucleic acid amplification, including the use of oligonucleotide primers or probes according to the present invention, and kits for use in such methods. |
